Commercial Counsel

As a Commercial Counsel You Will: 

We are looking for a Commercial Counsel with strong relationship and problem-solving skills to work closely with sales, business operations, finance, marketing, and people to help us scale and mature.

You will report to the General Counsel and help design and build the foundations for a legal function that supports all aspects of the business, including implementing contract management processes, corporate, sales, and people governance, and risk management. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervision. About You: 

  • You can understand our business model, organization, personnel, core partners, and the key drivers of our growth and success.
  • You can draft, negotiate, and review a variety of commercial agreements, including MANTL’s software license agreements, key vendor and partner agreements, finance agreements, NDAs, and plenty others.
  • You can develop contract management processes to assist the sales team, lead on all MANTL licensing and contracting.
  • You can provide ongoing practical, legal advice to product, business operations, and engineering on issues relating to BSA/AML compliance, banking compliance, privacy, IP, and risk.
  • You can help MANTL develop compliance-related best practices and guidance to bank customers.
  • You can develop and execute legal strategy on new business lines, projects, and initiatives.
  • You can assist with corporate secretarial matters.

What We are Looking For: 

  • A legal athlete with sound judgement and integrity. Self-starter who will work independently, come to a view, and give the right answers.
  • 3+ years of corporate transactional legal experience working on different commercial transactions, familiarity with digital technology and/or software agreements a plus.
  • Superb writing skills, with the ability to draft documents, policies, emails, and anything else in a concise manner, digestible for non-lawyers.
  • Top-tier JD and law firm experience. Bar admission and good standing in at least one state.

  • MANTL offers competitive compensation package including base salary, equity and benefits. Target pay for this role is 170 - 190K base, though subject to change based on performance and market conditions
